TYPICAL REFLEXOLOGY SESSION

A reflexology session normally lasts for 1 hour, but this can vary slightly depending on the specific needs of the client. Your experience starts with the walk from the village main parking site (by the market) to the orchard (not to miss this “intro” as part of your healing journey!).
For your first visit please allow extra 20 minutes, as a detailed assessment is required which will include a comprehensive, fully confidential  client medical history to assess each individuals suitability for treatment. Over a cup of herbal tea, I will discuss with you the proposed healing plan and answer any questions you may have about your treatments. This consultation will give me the information I need to work with you, and help me decide on the best treatment plan for you.
You will be comfortably seated  for your pre-treatment assessment, including weight/height/BMI check and blood pressure measurement (upon request). You are offered an organic herbal tee infusion recommended for aiding your particular condition. Please don’t feel that you need to have a pedicure before your visit and don’t be embarrassed about your feet.
Following this, I will assess the condition of your feet in terms of colour, scars, lines, molls and puffiness (e.g. “greeting the feet”). These will help getting a better idea of areas of imbalance in your body. I will then work on your feet one foot at a time using  organic coconut balm infused with medicinal herbs. The resting foot will be wrapped in a towel to keep warm while the other foot receives treatment.
Your treatment will begin with a gentle relaxing massage followed by gentle pressure to the reflex points of the feet. This should not be painful, but some reflex points may be sensitive due to the imbalance in the body’s energy. With your help, I will score any of the tender points or areas of sensitivity that you felt during the treatment. I may return to these points during the treatment and also during future sessions to assess the effect of the reflexotherapy. The session is usually closed with a relaxing deep breathing technique and may be followed by sound energy balancing of the system showing signs of congestions.
You may choose to follow your reflexotherapy with a

with hot herbal poultice made up freshly using medicinal herbs growing organically in the orchard.

The choice of herbs is skilfully fused in your presence discussing each components’ health benefits, and are chosen according to your current energetic unbalances detected by reflexology. The poultice(s) are then steamed and applied hot for a massage (duration and body part of your choice).

After the treatment, you may feel calm, relaxed or even sleepy. Others may feel energized and rejuvenated. Different people respond differently to the treatment. You are encouraged to drink a glass of water to help flush out any toxins.
All treatments are conducted in my peaceful and relaxing studio in our citrus orchard by the river of Alcantarilha where all your senses will be enchanted by birdsong, natural landscape and aromatic herbal odours. Alternatively, if your prefer, I can visit you with my mobile massage equipment to treat you in the comfort of your own home where you can stay a little longer in your relax-bubble after the session.
Soothing music can be enjoyed during the treatment to promote peace and tranquillity.
